The EU has treated us unfairly

Brexit is ruining this great country Want free movement back Spend time between England and Spain Sport, thrillers, wine, beach bars
The EU has treated us unfairly
04.10.2025 09:08 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Maybe there an aspect of the EU needing to people fairly who have homes, family and livelihood that cross borders after 47 years of membership.
Clearly UK gov must do the same too, but I think everyone will have their eye firmly on how UK gov behaves in that regard.
๐ฌ๐ง ๐ซ๐ท Many people assume Brits get 2 x 90 days in France each year after Brexit.
But they *only* get that if they stay away from *every* other Schengen country.
Which means no business trips to Germany. No conferences in Brussels, no holidays in Greece, no visiting children living in Spain.
๐ฉ๐ช ๐ง๐ช ๐ฌ๐ท ๐ช๐ธ
Among other Brexit impacts, the 90-in-180-day problem affects millions of British people, to a greater or lesser extent.
Itโs incredible really that Starmerโs government hasnโt tried to do anything about it yet.
When I broke down in tears at work in Glasgow, on the day of the result, a colleague kept berating me, "Have you ever lived there? How long? How long?" โ ignoring the fact this *is* Europe. She was always banging on abt having worked in Dubai for a few yrsโฆ
02.10.2025 21:05 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Yes. They don't give a damn abt millions of us who quite simply can't afford to uproot and move elsewhere.
02.10.2025 19:15 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 2 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0We are.
And itโs time we were allowed to say to.
It shouldnโt be a competition about who is the bigger victim. Brexit has many victims and our politicians have the power to put most of this right.
There are lots of options for doing so too.
This pisses me off. The attitude of the Irish and Europeans and some Brits on here towards us. We're victims of Brexit.

Who cares, you Putin-loving public-school grifting ponce? Just because the air is coming out of your tyres, doesn't mean you get to demand that the race start four years early. F-off back to Florida.
Another one!!
Russian official dies at five-star hotel after 'falling from high floor' following Putin crackdown
Former St Petersburg transport boss Alexander Fedotov, 49, was found dead outside the five-star Skypoint Luxe hotel at Moscow's Sheremetyevo International Airport
I think so too.
Even the language around the youth mobility campaign is designed to do that.
This is deliberate. They want to make us believe visas are normal
29.09.2025 05:51 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 2 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 0Omg. It didnโt take long for mainstream media to forget what Freedom of Movement actually was.
This really is mind blowing.

Westminster petitions should have an option to sign to oppose as well as support
27.09.2025 20:15 โ ๐ 6 ๐ 4 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0This is why Freedom of Movement matters.
When youโve given up everything to move to another country and have a bad year, you donโt expect to be kicked out of your home over arbitrary income threshold rules.
Neither France nor UK should behave like this.

True
24.09.2025 18:37 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0EU citizens are welcome in the UK irrespective of what a small number of UK politicians might pretend.
#VoicesofLostFOM #SaveFOM
If the EU needs to get concerned about the risk to EU citizens today from this fringe partyโs latest policies then I think they should have got concerned about the risk to EU citizens a long time before Brexit actually happened. And Iโm including British people in that.
23.09.2025 14:55 โ ๐ 4 ๐ 2 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Oh for Godโs sake: a national flag (particularly a Union one) is not a racist symbol. Itโs racist when you use it to emphasise your dislike of immigrants and intimidate them. To reclaim the flag as a symbol of liberalism and tolerance is *exactly* what needs to happen.
21.09.2025 19:50 โ ๐ 31 ๐ 4 ๐ฌ 4 ๐ 0Of course British people could stay as long as they liked before Brexit (regardless of whether or not it they own property).
You should know this.
They had Freedom of Movement. See EC2004/38.
Tax is a separate matter.

22.09.2025 00:36 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0The 90-in-180-day problem definitely exists.
It is the problem created when visitor days are counted across 29 countries but resident days are counted across just one.
If you donโt have pre Schengen bilateral deals then the 90-in-180-day problem likely affects you.
It's not our fault. We put a lot of money into local villages
