Thanks but not exactly my question. I recognize the Biden admin faced a number of nationwide injunctions and challenged them on appeal. Not clear from that article though whether those challenges were only to the merits of the injunctions or to the district courts' fundamental power to issue them

Professor, what were these cases? Just wondering how analogous the QPs were. Could it be that the Court didn't want to grant cert in a case that would have only "reined in" injunctions if the majority view was that they needed to end entirely?

To answer my own question in real time: Prof Vladek says the Biden admin did ask to "rein in" nationwide injunctions, though I'm not sure in what cases or how analogous the QPs were to what the court granted cert on here bsky.app/profile/stev...

Point being, I think we all have good reason to suspect that this Court was more motivated to hand down this ruling under Trump than it would've been under Biden, but you can't completely fault them for not deciding if before now if no Dem administration had ever thought to raise it for certiorari.
