Down under the Manhattan bridge overpass - for those not familiar. Quite a popular locale.

Inverness Courier. Sir Ed Davey β€˜very bullish’ about Lib Dem prospects for Holyrood 2026 election. 07 Oct 2025.

Liberal Democrats are winning again.

The Holyrood election in May is an opportunity for change with fairness at its heart.

Because Scotland deserves better - and with the Scottish Liberal Democrats, you can vote for it.

No to Digital ID Cards! Keir Starmer says everyone in the UK will be required to have mandatory digital ID. That’s not the kind of country we want to be. Back our petition to say no to digital ID cards.

Back our campaign and say no to Labour’s Digital ID plans www.libdems.org.uk/nodigitalid

The motive matters. Digital ID is not being brought in to make your life easier, but to make the lives of marginalised and vulnerable people more difficult. That will colour every aspect of the system's design and implementation.

So sad to hear of Ming's passing. He was a huge influence on me politically. A brilliant and fascinating man.

Ming Campbell was a dedicated public servant and a true Liberal giant.

His principled leadership opposing the Iraq War was a mark of his morality, courage and wisdom.

But more than that, he was an incredibly warm and caring friend and colleague.

We will miss him terribly.

The attempt by New Labour to bring in compulsory ID cards happened while I was at Uni and is a big part of why I'm a Liberal Democrat and not a Labour supporter. Also, you know, Iraq.

This is a pretty good thread undermining the government's stated rationale for digital ID.

Fair. However re-nationalising industries isn't normally associated with the neo-liberal brand of fiscal irresponsibility though.

How much has this lefty position always been Burnham's stance, and how much is this him capitalising on Corbyn leaving, and Rayner being tarnished, thus leaving a leadership void on the left of the party? Genuine question.

Pretty rich coming from Nigel Farage, who only seems to be for Nigel Farage, Donald Trump, and Vladimir Putin, in that order.

No. The rule is against removing your shirt. I'm just saying the whole, "it wastes time and delays the restart of the game" justification is BS. Follow the money.

It's for the shirt sponsors. They want their logos/name visible when the team/player they sponsor score.

There should be a high bar for politicians attacking the media, but maybe Ed Davey has half a point here?

For example, the first three paragraphs of this BBC story repeat Reform's Β£243bn figure without saying that the thinktank behind the estimate now disowns it. (This is mentioned in paragraph 35)

The media - no, we're not going to report on serious Lib Dem policies

The media - yes, we will report on fun stunts

The media, also - the Lib Dems need to show they've got serious policies

Remembering today when pro-GOP media erupted with outrage over Kamala Harris' warning that Trump had plans to militarize the national guard and deploy them on the streets of US cities. Indeed, he had such plans. And now he's implementing them.

Ferries Consultation We want to hear your views about Scotland's ferries.

The SNP's handling of Scotland's ferry services has been disastrous.

So we've launched a consultation on the future of Scotland's ferry services, to enable us to deliver a new way forward. One that's informed by the people who use the ferries...

I don't know. I've had to educate more than a couple of boomers about the fact that younger generations pay their pensions, and how a defined benefit (or final salary pension) is basically a Ponzi scheme, and how defined contribution pensions are just fancy savings accounts.
