The point is not "told you so" but to recognize how your reactions are shaped by racial narratives and normalization, and you can take this opportunity to overcome and denaturalize that hardness and cruelty within yourself, to deconstruct the whiteness that makes you defend the indefensible

Alex was a kindhearted soul who cared deeply for his family and friends and also the American veterans whom he cared for as an ICU nurse at the Minneapolis VA hospital.
