I have to say, it's a little frustrating how many Fridays I've had this week... And tomorrow I still have to Friday.

I'm working with a proof copy, but every 6 pages there's a wave in the text. It's driving me crazy.

You know you've been successful at eliminating distractions when you're just staring at your phone and it has absolutely no more ways to waste your time... You now have to go do one of the things.

Or sleep. Sleeping is an option...

Me: I'll give myself 3-4 weeks for that final #editing pass.

Me: Completes it in 5 days.

Me: There's no way I can expect it to go that well on the next book... 🤦🏼‍♀️

Anyone else get riled up when reading #nonfiction?

Learning about oppression and suffering just awakens a deep #rage in me.

As someone who just did what I'm calling an "interiority edit," I feel this. This last pass was 100% "Should the POV character be having feelings about this, and if so, did I include them?" The 7k+ words I added tell the tale.

My new book idea wants to be written N O W 🤦🏼‍♀️. But I can't… I just can't have more than 3 active series going, right?

I don't recommend pausing your #editing to move around some #Thanksgiving photos. You just might accidentally paste a #turkey into the middle of your book instead of your beloved #em-dash.

When you're #reading #nonfiction, how often do you start thinking about what is said or follow a tangential thought and stop listening to what you're reading?

It can be so hard to find the last thing I actually took in. Was it a paragraph ago? A page? And what was I even distracted by? I forgot...

I'm right there with you.

I swung the hammer expertly, slamming the #final nail into his coffin. I'd been lucky his heart gave out before he'd finished the job. Before he finished me. Good riddance I'd say.

All that was left was to leave this forsaken place behind and start anew.

When it comes to #nonfiction, I’m a painfully slow reader. Give me a romance & I'll read it in a day. A fantasy, two. Put nonfiction in my hand, months.

I have to stop & think about each #essay. Find how to integrate it into my knowledge bank. Assimilate life around it.
