Also en dashes are not em dashes and you should not be adding two spaces after periods anymore. In fact you shouldn’t have been doing that since at least like 2004 or maybe even earlier. Hello to the small handful other people who can commiserate with me.

Dear anyone who writes professionally: EM DASHES ARE NOT MEANT TO REPLACE COMMAS AT EVERY OPPORTUNITY! If I see one more instance of an em dash followed by a conjunction to join two independent clauses I am going to scream.
