We in the legal profession really need to have a moment of introspection about how our commitment to "civility" above all else didn't just enable everything we're seeing now, it helped *cause* it.

Some arguments should not be met with civility. Sometimes civility only serves oppression.

On a city level it seems they are addressing or trying to address things but the issues that affect specifically my life are more national issues like transphobia, human rights, and climate crisis issues.

When you consider businesses to be “people” and unhoused human beings to be “not people” then you arrive at that conclusion.
