The entire argument is that we need to bring back tons of manufacturing. The amount of manufacturing they want to bring back which is a reminder is what they think should be the main economic driver now, does not line up with the number of people who would be willing to work in a factory

Well unfortunately many jobs that require a bachelor's level of education in a specific area are now demanding a master's.

Unfortunately I can't afford not to work long enough to get a masters. Although I do plan to pursue that eventually.

Actually as a follow-up question I'm curious if history degrees have a worse rate for getting jobs in a field directly relating to the degree than something like stem.

I would actually go ahead and tell any students you have to come to you and say hey I want to work in the actual historical field to focus on art history. Roughly 75% of the jobs that I see in any sort of museum setting is for art historians.
