We used to have an otter sanctuary here in the Peak District (near Chapel-en-le-Frith). I used to love going to see them. Sadly it closed and the animals were relocated down south somewhere...

There's a bit in the last 'Outlander' book (Go Tell the Bees) where they mention that bees sleep holding each other's feet. And these are!

Brilliant day at our annual #SHUTeachmeet yesterday. All the team pulled the stops out and we hope all the attendees enjoyed it, too. We had a grand day sharing experiences of #inclusion #EEDI #equalitydiversityinclusion Very important to continue good work and practice in the current climate.

Cartoon ginger cat with big beseeching eyes.

Cartoon ginger cat with big beseeching eyes.

In the days of lovely Twitter I often put out a call for help with research in writing my books. So here goes, Bluskiers.

I'm looking for a social worker (adoption/fostering preferably) and a probation officer who worked between 2008 and 2012, the more senior the better.

Please share :)

Librarians in UK increasingly asked to remove books, as influence of US pressure groups spreads Anecdotal evidence suggests a rise in requests to take books off shelves, particularly LGBTQ+ titles Requests to remove books from library shelves are on the rise in the UK, as the influence of pressure groups behind book bans in the US crosses the Atlantic, according to those working in the sector. Although β€œthe situation here is nowhere [near] as bad, censorship does happen and there are some deeply worrying examples of library professionals losing their jobs and being trolled online for standing up for intellectual freedom on behalf of their users”, said Louis Coiffait-Gunn, CEO of the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals (Cilip).
