WCK’s Relief Team is working with local partners in Southeast Oregon to provide meals and water to communities affected by historic floods. A combination of heavy rains and rapid snowmelt led to flooding that blocked off roads, damaged homes, and displaced families.

Just landed in El Salvador to discuss release of Kilmar Abrego Garcia
YouTube video by Senator Chris Van Hollen Just landed in El Salvador to discuss release of Kilmar Abrego Garcia

I just landed in San Salvador a little while ago, and I look forward to meeting with the team at the U.S. embassy to discuss the release of Mr. Abrego Garcia.

I also hope to meet with Salvadoran officials and with Kilmar himself. He was illegally abducted and needs to come home.

Most Appalachians don’t want mining to come back, because we’ve watched it destroy our families and our ecosystems for centuries at this point.

We want safe jobs that pay a living wage in industries that don’t exploit our home for profit then leave without fixing the problems they created.

Airborne microplastics enter plant leaves and end up in our food Evidence for a previously overlooked route for microplastics to enter crops and reach plant tissues has implications for ecology and human health.

Yet another way for microplastics to get into the food chain – by getting into leaves via the air.

When the fossil fuel industry says "we'll always extract oil because we'll always need plastics," remember that that's not without consequences either. 🧪 🌎

No lawmaker in Congress should be able to own, buy, and sell individual stocks.

We need to ban congressional stock trading—and I've got a bill for that.

why is *every* newspaper/programme running with the headline "tariffs are paused" when they haven't been.

What's happened is that every country (except China) gets a flat rate of 10% for 90 days.

National Park Service rewrites Underground Railroad history amid DEI purge It follows a massive purge of articles about soldiers of color.

I got more and more angry with every paragraph — The National Park Service is retelling the Underground Railroad story as an episode of "Black/White cooperation," and has removed a photo of abolitionist Harriet Tubman.

Did climate change supercharge the 'once-in-a-lifetime' storm pummeling the central US? A relentless storm is unleashing floods and tornadoes. Here's how a warmer atmosphere and a simmering Gulf of Mexico may be making it worse.

The answer to this question is always YES.

Every extreme event today occurs over a background of changed conditions that dynamically affect temperature, rainfall, and more.

The real question is, “by how much did climate change make this event worse”? That’s the info attribution science provides.
