I don’t think anyone is prepared for what they just did w/ ICE.

This is not a simple budget increase. It is an explosion - making ICE bigger than the FBI, US Bureau of Prisons, DEA,& others combined.

It is setting up to make what’s happening now look like child’s play. And people are disappearing.

Most of the science around embryo selection is not ready for the clinic (see e.g. great reporting at sfstandard.com/2025/06/01/s...). FDA should regulate this, and I hope it does before too many unsuspecting couples rely on pseudo-science to make a major decision.

There is no scientific or clinical evidence supporting these use restrictions.

For 75 years, the best and brightest from all over the world have come to the US to do research. Many have stayed, started companies, created jobs, generated tax $ for the US, and gave Americans access to cutting edge tech. That era is over. Another country and its citizens will now benefit instead.

NSF Physics was cut by 85%, basically wiping out most of its capacity for supporting research.

NSF Astronomy was cut by 53%

Undergrad education was cut by 71% and research on learning by 79%

Graduate education was cut by 100% to ZERO.
