The Lower Decks episode was great. It was within canon and it was fun watching those characters interact. I watched the musical one and hated it. The songs weren't great, which is often the problem with musical episodes.

Are they just ripping pages out of the Joss Whedon novelty episode playbook? Strange New Worlds is a really strong show that doesn't need this gimmicky nonsense.
