From a newspaper article: Democrats are desperate for a formula to regain control of Congress and the White House. But Tuesday’s elections, though bringing welcome victories, also sent a mixed signal.

The "mixed signal" here is that Mamdani won in New York and Sherrill and Spanberger won in New Jersey and Virginia. It baffles me that pundits look at that and think, "But what is the formula now?" rather than "In different constituencies, different candidates will do well."
