But the amount of detail in my actual notes probably explains my lack of social life ..
Pile of white lines paper covered in small neat handwriting with some hand drawn pictures of scientific things like kidneys and antibodies
It's time.
Rainy Saturday afternoon activity is recycling the 20 year old undergrad notes...

Oh I'll add this quite old review as well (sorry for going twice) again for just being beautifully written. Eloquent explanations in science are such glorious things and this one is worth reading even if you don't work on protein misfolding...

Ok so this is almost certainly not up your street but I LOVE this paper because it is simple, beautifully written and super clear. It's just a good paper and I fangirled the senior author about it in an email to him

π RIP to a real one. My childhood hero
The breakfast show I listen to does a stupid amnesty which I LOVE. My favourites thus far:
1. Person only realised recently that the Wombles live on Wimbledon Common, and are not, in fact, just common
2. Person only realised recently that the phrase was 'prima donna' not 'pre-Madonna'
You'll enjoy this...it was followed today by me having to fill in a form about out of hours working which had to be signed by my project license holder.
That person is also me.
It would not surprise me...
30.09.2025 17:26 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Apparently my local ethics board have learned nothing from the pandemic when we realised that actually, some large meetings work really well remotely.
Today I did a round trip of about half an hour cycling (involving hills) to answer questions that took approximately three minutes of my time.
Super exciting news from UCL...

Gus will simply not be your performing monkey, not now, not ever, the treatos keep coming and he still gets to eat them even if he doesn't catch them first. I call Gus a hidden genius.

I'm broadly against the 'I'm so thrilled to announce' type post you get all over LinkedIn but what it did allow me to do today was link with a total stranger who happens to be a histol expert. We organized a teams call and spent 40 minutes nerding out about glass coating protocols and histology ππ§ͺ
