In a statement, a CPD spokesperson said they responded to the scene after federal authorities notified them they had detained one person on an active criminal warrant there

Also people should keep asking questions about the blurry lines of CPD and how they are abiding by the welcoming cities ordinance. It’s hard for me to see how blocking off and redirecting traffic isn’t facilitating immigration enticement activities.

“If any of those alderpeople don't find that incident a violation of our constitutional rights, then I don't know what they will find a violation of our constitutional rights,” Fuentes told The TRiiBE.

The papers w/ orange triangles are "demo bags" taped up over the windows of one of the holding cells. They had no problem showing men detained in the room to the right, but clearly didn't want anyone to see the people or conditions in the other cell. Or didn't want them to see out.

I'm sorry, need to put a correction here; I mistook Ellis' comments while trying to take notes and listen at the same time.

Here Ellis' comments referred to people whose rights were violated by unidentifiable ICE agents not being able to find relief, not ICE agents' own rights being violated.

She adds that violations of ICE agents' rights can't be addressed if they won't identify themselves.

She concedes it can be "scary" to be followed home or harassed, but adds,

"That doesn't mean you get to do this job and be anonymous."

It’s mostly small stuff. You don’t need to pull someone from a car or take pepper spray to the face. Just watch a block and know who to call. Maybe run errands for a neighbor.
