“NATO scrambled jets, could have shot the drone down, but allowed it to fly over NATO territory for 5o minutes, escorted it back to Ukrainian air space—and giving it another chance to kill Ukrainians (courtesy of NATO).”

Historic selfie. Ukraine’s government leadership always visit the sites of Russia’s drone and missile attacks. Today Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko just had to walk down the hall. This is the cabinet of ministers building in central Kyiv after the biggest Russian drone attack of the war.

Map of Russia’s targeted bombing of Kyiv last night.

Shocking to see like this.

According to the Ukrainian Air Forces Russia sent:
- 397 Shahed-type attack UAVs and simulated drones of various types
- 8 Iskander-M ballistic missiles
- 6 X-101 cruise missiles
- 4 S-300 anti-aircraft guided missiles

Russian invasion has lowered Ukrainian students' performance in PISA by 23 points in reading and 9 points in science.

Most likely mechanism : psychological stress.

There is strong impact of air-raids if they happen on the night before the national exam, but negligible impact in the long-term.

Opinion | What Autocrats Want From Academics: Servility In 1931, Italian scholars were made to take loyalty oaths. Will that happen to us?

"On October 8, 1931, a law went into effect requiring every Italian university professor to sign an oath pledging their loyalty to the government of Benito Mussolini. Out of over 1,200 professors in the country, only 12 refused. All of them were immediately fired." www.chronicle.com/article/what...

Analysis: Europe needs money to back Ukraine. Why is it reluctant to spend Russia’s? | CNN Business Three years of war in Ukraine have left Europe with a hefty bill. The region has so far refused to touch the $229 billion of Russian central bank cash sitting in the EU – but could this change?

I was interviewed by @cnn.com, where I argued for the need to confiscate Russian assets: "International law is above all for justice, not just property rights."
