I had no love for any of the characters. I don’t think you’re really meant to though.

Light brown mushroom on grass with oak leaf to the right beneath it. It has a chunk out of it at the bottom. It wasn’t me!

Same mushroom again lying dawn. Its underside is very pale and gilled. Quite a thick stem for its head size.

I won’t try to eat them but can anyone identify it?

The Decent of Man book by Grayson Perry lying on my zigzag blue and white fabric. Grayson is standing up wearing a sober suit with hands in his trousers pockets looking stern. Tie is done up and wears a white shirt with his iconic hair bob. It’s in black and white with the Penguin books logo bottom tight. First published in 2016 This edition 2017

Picked up this at a charity shop yesterday. It’s unread from 2017.

A patio full of pots in the pinky glow of dusk. No Harvest moon for us just the colours. Pots of different colours lined against a dry stone wall with a green background of mature trees.

No moon harvest 🌑 for us here this evening but the light at dusk was wonderful.
My patio with the last of the colour from the pots. More to come from the trees this month.

I was given such a bouquet some time ago.

When you do drain the sloes out of the gin, don’t throw them away.
Take out the pips and use the pulp of gin soaked sloes to make some chocolates.
Lay the pulp onto baking sheet and pour over melted dark chocolate. Refrigerate for tipsy treats!!

Frozen sloes in gin in the glass jars. During the next few days I’ll be turning the jars over onto their sides and up again every day. Then after a week or so every week. Keep them in the dark too. Never in strong light. In 2-3 months, probably 2 for me as I want it for Xmas, drain out the sloes and add sugar syrup. You need a fair bit of sugar as sloes are sour. Taste as you go! Keep adding until it’s ok for you. 100-150g more if you want.

My jars are 950ml with 300g of sloes in each. I had to use a little more gin from my cupboard to make up the shortfall.

I didn’t thaw the sloes they go in frozen.

The other advice I was given was not to put the sugar in at this stage. Sugar syrup later in 2 months time after draining.

Gordon’s gin green bottle on the left with plastic freezer bags of frozen sloes. I froze them in 100g bags so I could measure out what I needed quickly. Those plastic bags will be reused.

Three sterilised Kilner type jars and rubber seals. I didn’t use the little one in the end but followed another advice that said have more sterilised jars than you need, just in case! The jars are on a wooden cutting board on top if my cooker. Boiling hot after being in the oven for 10mins on 120°. The rubber seals were boiled for 3 minutes.

Sloes were washed and frozen so time to make the Sloe Gin.
I’m using Gordon’s as it’s a very good gin and slightly less pricey than the trendy ones. Advise was never use bad gin!!
Jars and rubber seals sterilised.
300g in the 950ml jar. Pour gin on top.

Next door’s house and chimney with a small patch of blue sky behind it. The rest of the sky is grey and dark green clouds. There is a little dot of blue but it’s only a reflection on the window I took it through. Love a moon but can never photograph it with my phone!

Sloes hanging off the branch. The sloes are black purple colour, small and round. 5 of them . Blackthorn has a very toxic thorn to be avoided. Can actually cause a severe poisoning. The green leaves are oval and longish. The background is blurry greens.

700g of Sloes picked this afternoon in the wind. There’s a little green leaf on the top of the pile. They are in a metal round weighing scale dish.

We’ve lived all over the country. Job wise it was the worst experience and left bad memories. That would taint a city for anyone.

This documentary is a 3 parter and is shocking what the Republicans were up to even then. These were Americans and they didn’t help them. Truly horrendous. I remember it but to my shame didn’t know this detail.

Netflix. 25 years ago now the hurricane struck New Orleans. It goes through the devastation of the disaster. It then tells you what’s happened there after through local eyes and hearts 💔

The best thing about this one is that it’s not for the grandchildren. It’s got salt, lots of mustard powder, mature cheddar and topped with more mature cheddar and smoked paprika!

Just like Yorkshire yesterday!!

I’ve just had my flu vaccine this morning but was refused the Covid vaccine as I’m not 75 - I’m 72!

My OH is immunocompromised.

I also look after Grandchildren once a week the youngest being 2.

How on earth is this going to save #NHS money. We’ll spread it like wildfire!
