Which is to say, I agree. I think passkeys put a bunch of new problems into the hands of web devs that have never had to consider them, and now we’re seeing how unprepared we all are to solve them individually.

I think it’s an issue of the ideal implementation vs reality. I see devs and security folks talking about the technological underpinnings, but then it’s up to a bunch of individual website developers to solve for real situations (like multiple devices), and the standards just aren’t there yet.
