Exactly. They aren't afraid of abuse of power and "creative" interpretations of the law because they're confident this will be used against the "bad" people who deserve it, and they will be justly protected.

I understand that death and loss is perhaps humans' greatest struggle and losing a loved one can be devastating. However, who thinks this type of representation has integrity and is respectful? There are so many problems.
Also, no, don't do this to me, absolutely not.

The ability to trust and rely on government information will be one of the consequences of this presidency. Even if a new administration tries to fix things, that trust will be broken indefinitely. 50/50 odds the next administration(s) tries to play the same game now that it's readily available.

Another piece is the anti-Trump center-right who used to talk about how "far left" Biden was and now act personally offended that the Democrats won't nominate Joe Manchin for President.

We are so far off the rails with Executive Orders. What authority does the President have to determine policy for athletic compensation in college sports? Nothing to do with his branch of government. We don't have a king. You can't just make a proclamation and say, "Make it so!"

What's funny/not funny about this "Obama's coup" nonsense is that even reading the Fox News reporting immediately reveals how this is hyperbole built upon a strawman. The actual details are wafer paper.
"Obama, Hillary, and Comey said Russia hacked the election and that is a coup!"
Uh, sure.....

My impression is that the current easiest ways to make lots of money fast are to either A) obtain the Presidency and do the crypto thing or B) say something horribly racist, get fired, and ask conservatives for money via GoFundMe. I'm not interested in either of those.

Mysteriously, my kid's SAI for FinAid leapt for 25-26. I didn't marry an heiress, win the lottery, get a massive raise, nor pocket fees from the sale of my own meme coin. Seems like this is a common story with his friends. Went from a nice Pell to zero. FAFSA fun! Anyone have an extra 5k around?

The classic paradox. The Republicans and Trump regime run over everything through legal, "extra legal," and illegal measures, then Democrats take any power and act helpless.

I had to darkly smirk because I'm pretty sure 100% of my ancestry ("heritage") was in Europe at the time of this scene, like many people in the US. Brings home the depth of symbolic imagination here.

Two 3D-printed dinosaurs with lots of detail and realism. One is Spinosaurus and the other is an Allosaurus.
Cool! I'm replying mostly to test out this feature that I didn't know exists. Please enjoy the picture of dinosaurs that I 3D printed. (or don't, it's totally fine. 3D printed dinosaurs are not everyone's jam).

Need to find a way past this "Trump is disappointing and probably a fascist, but I still wouldn't vote for Harris" response.
What do these guys need? Have they not realized where the empty bluster of Trump got them? Democrats aren't "cool" enough to pass on fascism?

This talking point has filtered down to regular Trump supporters as well. I see people on my social media saying things like, "I don't believe a local judge should be able to override the President," as though a Federal District judge is the magistrate of Mayberry.

Part of the issue is that the tech and culture here don't lead to small, everyday accounts getting much traction unless you're persistent and adept. I don't know that there is the same incentive to post abundant sports takes outside of media figures like yourself.

Most of the accounts I follow are "big" political & social commentary people who bailed on the Bird. I have found a small niche of dinosaur science and writing as well. You think political debates are bad but have you seen paleontologists talk about Spinosaurus?

Would this be the same argument as "Gay marriage bans are not discriminatory because they prohibit both straight and gay people from marrying someone of the same sex?" Because that seems obviously ridiculous. Or am I missing a nuance?

This is something I notice often. For all the talk about the "liberal media," so much of the media narrative appears to have this high demand towards Democrats that Republicans get a near full pass on. The imbalance baffles me. Guess it's a protective response to the idea they are left biased?
