The ability to trust and rely on government information will be one of the consequences of this presidency. Even if a new administration tries to fix things, that trust will be broken indefinitely. 50/50 odds the next administration(s) tries to play the same game now that it's readily available.

Kalamazoo College has a new 3D printer than can do multi-color in one print by programming the extruders. We're warming up for cool things in biophysics, fine arts, and beyond, but behold, my shiny grayscale trilobite!

This talking point has filtered down to regular Trump supporters as well. I see people on my social media saying things like, "I don't believe a local judge should be able to override the President," as though a Federal District judge is the magistrate of Mayberry.

Part of the issue is that the tech and culture here don't lead to small, everyday accounts getting much traction unless you're persistent and adept. I don't know that there is the same incentive to post abundant sports takes outside of media figures like yourself.

This is something I notice often. For all the talk about the "liberal media," so much of the media narrative appears to have this high demand towards Democrats that Republicans get a near full pass on. The imbalance baffles me. Guess it's a protective response to the idea they are left biased?

With a lean institution, it's difficult to make time to co-teacher or even have extensive guests, but I would love colleagues in classics, media studies, biology, philosophy, and other departments to participate. I'm dreaming big here!

I have a dream of offering an interdisciplinary "Dinosaurs in Culture" seminar. I'm insecure about my lack of biology knowledge for that component, but the class could discuss "ancient" interpretations of fossils, the Bone Wars, depictions in media, and Indigenous rights and fossil ownership.
