Why this matters:
This could improve uptake in resource limited settings and in general practice settings where specialized dosing or tapers would be more challenging to complete.

What we found:
The bottom-line is amoxicillin 250mg given orally as a once dose appeared to be a commonly used intervention- it was well-tolerated and effective in low-risk patients.

Context:
Penicillin allergies labels lead to limitations with appropriate antibiotic prescribing & suboptimal treatment but can often be removed using various interventions. One of the challenges is defining a protocol that could be used for oral challenge shown to be safe and effective.

Addressing health related gaps necessitates research; without it, problems can remain undetected until many are affected.
Health research that is targeted to address gaps in care provides critical insights into disease trends, risk factors, as well as medication effectiveness and safety.

This loss of knowledge will impact healthcare and population health decisions because a lack of evidence could mean that we donβt know if a relationship exists or it was never tested.
Without research, people are left without evidence-based resources, which is a disservice to humanity.

Why is this important? The loss of resources for scientists, clinicians, patient partners, policy makers, and health advocates that are working on research that informs human health and well-being will result in loss of knowledge.

Inclusive research is important because if a question isnβt studied, we can't know if there's a relationship.
Here's the difference:
1. No association was found between x and y based on evidence.
2. We haven't tested if there's an association between x and y, so we don't know if one exists.

It is difficult to manipulate or control an educated woman. I can attest to this from lived experience.
Being able to critically review information and validate it or at the very least stop to question it is irreplaceable.
It is also a transferable skill. This is why education is essential.

PM Trudeauβs care for Canadians shone through his tenure. He will be missed.
As a Canadian, I was proud of the way all liberal candidates carried themselves; however, Mark Carney is an excellent candidate and I look forward to his leadership of the Liberal party.

Iβm disappointed in this narrative speaking about PM Justin Trudeau in this light.
If political parties proposing leadership in Canada cannot respect one another on these platforms, they will lose trust of the people they aim to serve.
Please do better.

The image features a stylized illustration of a woman and a girl walking together. The woman holds a green globe with leaves sprouting from it, symbolizing sustainability. The background is deep blue with abstract geometric shapes. White text states, βWomen & girls need to be at the centre of climate action.β with βcentre of climate actionβ highlighted in blue. The UN Women and For All Women and Girls logos appear in the top corners.
As the climate crisis accelerates, women and girls bear the brunt of its devastating effects.
When women and girls are at the centre of #ClimateAction, we can transition to a sustainable future #ForAllWomenAndGirls.

As a Canadian (proud and grateful), I am heartbroken and concerned. Speaking for myself only, but, I expect more from US leaders with access to resources and power. The unjust decisions and heartlessness of some US federal policies over the early part of 2025 are morally and ethically concerning.

If youβre ever questioning whether your voice matters. Please donβt question. It does. Whether it is as a voter, advocate, or expert on a topic- your voice matters.
If enough stand up & bravely advocate for equality, justice, & empathy then maybe we can shift the tides to create a tsunami of hope.
