One consolation from living through this chapter of the grimdark novel titled "Interesting Times":

At some point in the future, after reason reasserts itself, we'll get a Latino equivalent of The Producers with the mustache man replaced by the orange buffoon.

I will be back in my feet once the coffee reaches life supporting levels.

American Fascism is stage two of (some) yt folks's collective grief for the death of American Exceptionalism.

We've seen 60 years of denial. "America's never been racist. America's never been an empire."

Now, we've hit anger.

Hopefully, we live to see bargaining, depression, and acceptance.

I don't want to deny the importance of STEM.

But I feel like we have collectively propped up STEM as the single thing allowing for society to function, while simultaneously devaluing the arts and humanities.

STEM allows us to function, but the arts give us a reason to even WANT to function.

The early bird can keep the worm. I'll take the coffee.

I gotta say, this took me a long time, and it did NOT turn out the way I'd hoped. Mostly because it involved a ton of sewing and I think I misunderstood the pattern.
