It's always struck me how David Sylvain's journey from front cover pop star into the farthest reaches of the Experimental/Avant Garde is even wilder than Björk's.

(Even wilder, I guess, that Björk still gets the Sunday supplement front covers when she releases new stuff)

'Crazy Earl' lived next down to my best mate in Clapton Square. It's remarkable how the Essex countryside, with the little streams and ditches beside the roads that feature in Ring Of Bright Water, so believably become padi fields etc.

Looking for bits of FULL METAL JACKET to show visitors what Docklands looked like until the late 1980s. While still marveling at the sleight of hand by the production to convert it into war-torn Vietnam, I spot a very British pylon.

Thing is, and this is the last time I'll bang on about him, I really enjoyed and laughed along with Tim Key's bit in the new Alan Partridge. He's basically the Itchy & Scratchy du nos jours.

I've never seen any of The Classic Disneys in full, having grown up on the scraps thrown to us by the BBC at Easter and Christmas in Disney Time.
