The cover for Uncanny Magazine Issue 53, β€œA Rest from the Hunt"" by Elaine Ho: a muscular masc centaur with a bare chest and blue horse hide, pointed ears, and long blue hair tied in a ponytail holds a nocked bow in his hands. A femme human with long untied brown hair rides on the saddle wearing a red longcoat with yellow trim, riding pants, and brown boots. The human also has a bow and an arrow nocked and pulled back. Both of them are kissing each other as the white and pale blue clouds and brown earth underneath have lines that imply rapid motion. The quote reads: "In steady, vicious monologue he cussed the bus that ran late after class, the old guy holding up the Speedway checkout with scratch-offs, and the morning clerk leaving him loitering outside."

Weird fun fact: if you don't write words, the book won't actually happen. Bizarre, I know. Trust me, I have tried all the other options.

In 2004 LeVar Burton gave the commencement address at Willamette. He walked up to the mic, sang the words β€œButterfly in the sky,” and then the entire graduating class, in full voice, sang back to him the entire Reading Rainbow song. Wasn’t a dry eye in the house.

You should hire me if:

- you've written a flash you don't know whether to keep under 1K or expand into a short story

Sarah Morrison’s illustrations are amazing! Grim looks so cheerfully unaware that Frank the taxman is about to turn his world upside down.

β€˜A Cup of Tea’ is now interior art for Death and the Taxman, which I just sent as an ebook to my Kickstarter backers. Coming Apr 15th, 2024 (Tax Day).

Thrilled to announce that my translation of "The Rattler" (Пикалка) by Leo Kaganov will appear in Asimov's.

This story is scandalous in the best way; the author managed to include acrostics spelling out "Glory to Ukraine, Glory to Heroes." Which I replicated in the translation.

Full sequence of the annular solar eclipse at Shiprock, New Mexico. This was a dream composition of mine. So much time, energy, and money went into making it happen. I'm forever grateful to the Navajo for letting me shoot it from sacred ground. An experience I'll never forget.
