Manitowoc Minute Special Report: AI questions for policymakers
YouTube video by Charlie Berens Manitowoc Minute Special Report: AI questions for policymakers

Wisconsin Data Center fight update, Charlie Berens still has some of the best civic engagement content I've seen in a minute.

Worth the watch and a good 101 on public meeting points challenging data centers anywhere

I should’ve also mentioned that there’s some real racist shit in there too, but that’s propaganda for you.

This is a great reminder that the vast number of WWII propaganda posters are government works free of copyright and therefore available to remix!

keep copies on your computer, and preferably also an external hard drive. The idea is that if one things dies, you've got another copy to access.

Another good approach is to save the writing itself in a word/google/whatever document along with the info on when and where it was published.

As for digital files themselves- LoCKSS (Lots of Copies Keeps Stuff Safe) is the goal. Cloud storage is okay, but you should also at least-

Great question! Printing copies of your online writing isn't the worst idea, to be honest. But you can also do a couple of other things. One, you can make sure the page is captured by the Wayback Machine: go to web.archive.org and you can enter a URL to save under "Save Page Now". Also screenshots.

Also, even though I wrote this several years ago, I’m still happy to talk with authors who’ve got questions! Info in the post.

It's October, aka American Archives Month, and while it's been a bit warm to don our cardigans, the shrines to Henry from RED are up and it's time to remind romance authors (and authors of all stripes!) about what kinds of things they ought to be preserving. romancehistory.com/2021/10/15/a...

The broad categories to think about are:

1. Creative Process: Anything relating to the creation of your work
2. Promo Stuff: If they'e going to make you DIY promo, document it!
3. Business Papers: A recently VERY relevant topic! Saving any and all financial & contract stuff saves headaches later.

Has your library banned any displays, events, education, talks, or anything else related to Banned Books Week this year? I want to know about it . . . and emphasize you're not alone.

Please take and share this short, anonymous survey.

I knew tickets were going to be ridiculous for the World Cup, but it’s so much worse than that. NFTs, dynamic pricing, FIFA taking 15% from both buyers and sellers on their resale sites… It’s so bad. youtu.be/vElThKJlTSU?...

It’s kind of it’s isn’t thing, but for an artist who usually does her own thing musically, this sticks out like a sore thumb.
