I like to tell the story of how, at the library where I used to work, the first poetry book that ever had a hold list so long we had to buy more copies was Milk and Honey, by Rupi Kaur

Stereotypical librarian, I have three cats and I knit my own cardigans. Opinions are my own.

I can't put my fuzzy slipper-socks away any more, because where would she sleep then?
06.11.2025 05:44 β π 4 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0You know, I usually can't stand to listen to political speeches--something about the cadence and the shoutiness throws me off, so I nearly always read the transcript the next day instead.
But I listened to this.
Teen Vogue has had more guts to dissect and expose the truth when so many veteran media outlets have bent their knees to a criminal despot and his regime and this news is absolutely appalling and unacceptable

I'm sorry, human, this meeting is for supervisors only

Also, all I know about this is what I've picked up from the Discourse du Jour, which means I need to log off
Pity I can't count ranting as exercise, I would be a size 2
22.10.2025 20:45 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0People tell me I just need to find an activity I enjoy, and I'm like: You don't get it, no part of this is ever fun for me. It never becomes a habit that I miss if I can't do it. It remains a tedious chore that I have to force myself to do

He looks at you with this blank stare, daring you to tell him you tried to make sunshine on a stick in the freezer but the toothpicks never stayed up straight. He knows you won't say anything because you're embarrassed. You know he knows. He knows that you know that he knows. And yet, he just stands there, hankering for a hunk o' cheese like it isn't fucking impossible to get plastic wrap to stay taught on an ice cube tray. You want to ask him for a wagon wheel, from his stacks of snacks, but you can't bring yourself to say the words, because now you, too, are hankering, hankering for the last hunk-o-cheese, and you both know you'll have to fight for it.
If you can hear this image, it's probably time to schedule your colonoscopy. If you can sing the whole song, it's also time to get your shingles vaccine.

Online libraries disappear, digital books can be altered, and with Big Tech seeking to destroy history and literacy, print media has never been more essential.
