Trans Day of Remembrance Grounding There are so many things around us trying to distract our focus, to pull us away from the truth of who we are. Before we read the list of names let’s take some time to be present, to prepare ourselves, to breathe. Take a moment to get into a comfortable standing or seated position. Feel the ground beneath your feet. Feel the air flowing around us, connecting us to each other and the cycles of nature.

I almost put out my candle of truth that edge came and my light teetered on the brink, almost dropping into the final abyss There are many things around us trying to put out or convince us to put out our candles of truth and it is time to join these dim and flickering candles together and light the bonfire of truth. The bonfire of truth only lights when we abandon isolation and gather our truths together to burn the dark logs of falsehood, those logs of lies supporting the engines of destruction our society depends on for life but kill us ever so slowly. Let us gather our truths together and burn all lies
