This is one of my favorite optical illusions, because even when you know specifically HOW IT WORKS, it's still hard to make your brain believe it.

The image below is real-world video, but you're being tricked into believing it's an elaborate miniature by the DIORAMA EFFECT.

I don't know how it would actually play.

I know some folks have issues with partner cards giving you too consistent access to cards.

I can also see it turning into every deck being 5-color good stuff soup.

Anyone have thoughts on why it wouldn't work or ideas to help it work?

It's inspired a bit by UB stuff. FF, TMNT, and Marvel to have teams of heroes and villains fighting.

The rest of the deck is meant to be support for your party. You could load up with token creators or things that turn into creatures, but that's not the spirit of the idea.

After reading through this thread, I've had a #commander variant rolling around in my head, but I don't know how viable it is.

I've been calling it Hero Squad. Pick 4 or 5 legends as your team. They are who you fight with. Ban creatures from the rest of the deck.

I also made a historic version later with some alchemy clerics, but it does have some interesting clerics from Innistrad. I think this one leans a little more heavily on the life gain though.

@wachelreeks.com I was watching Commanders we Can't Crack and wanted to share my Orah deck. It was a Zendikar Standard deck. It focused a lot on recursion but it did have a little bit of that Soul Sisters plan. It did well for me at the time and was able to outlast.

We adopted a cat from the NE Humane Society who they had named "IT Guy". I wonder if he knows Susan from Accounting.

This pleases me greatly.

I got the mints as a gift and kept the tin. The flowers are little erasers-like things I kept from some party long ago. I've been using them as Magic tokens. Now the happy little flowers have a happy little home!

Anyhow I made the top 3% of Sessionize speakers again this year.

I hate that I can see a video of something genuinely vile that makes me furious and now I have to stop and go 'okay but is this real?'

Like... man. I'm teaching a course called Media Literacy this semester and what a fucken time to be doing THAT.

I vaguely remember crafting times for things. Maybe that's where I bounced off the game. "And now we wait .. .. ok, what else can I do."

This game is way too easy.

I tried to get into it a while back, but it lost me pretty quick. Maybe the updated new player experience @foxharper.bsky.social was talking about might help.

I took this photo in September, 2021, on the most perfect windless evening, feeling euphoric having finished the edits on my debut novel, Villager. The whole walk felt like I'd temporarily stepped inside a Kit Williams painting, which was apt since for the last several decades he has lived not far from here, and the landscape was a prime inspiration for his masterpiece Masquerade.

Almost certainly the best photograph I have ever taken from an Iron Age hillfort of the sun setting over an estuary as summer segues majestically into autumn.
