There were many deserving winners but one game did stand out just a bit more. As well as winning Best Turn-Based RPG, Best Battle System, Best Music, and Biggest Surprise, Sandfall Interactive's Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 comes away with our 2025 Game of the Year award.

Yeah, the gap between the Game Jam prototype & the Steam release was under a year.

Any rumors about a new 2D Metroid coming out soon? Metroid Dread sold really well and there was a 4-year gap between the Metroid 2 remake & Dread so the timeline would fit (it's already been 4+ years since Dread).

Mostly focused on the time thing since there are ways to get games for cheap or free, but time has a hard cap for everyone. Completing a new game every 4 days or so is an insane pace, even if there aren't huge RPGs and forever games thrown into the mix.

I don't typically put much thought into chain scoring or scoring in beat 'em ups at all, but this one got me hooked on trying to go higher! And it's a free browser game! From the creator of Fight'N Rage.

Specifically about Plague Tale 2, the whole thing is about protecting & redeeming the brother only to end up murdering him in the end. No lessons were learned. It just felt like it was trying to be edgy for edginess sake.

1) How do you have enough time & money to play so many games in a single year?

2) I laughed when I saw your comment about almost finishing Hundred Line. Getting the first ending is basically just finishing the first chapter.

3) I disliked Plague Tale 2 because the whole story felt pointless.

Maybe it gets a lot easier later on when you unlock some overpowered jobs, but I'm wondering if people are grinding and then complaining that it's too easy. Or maybe they didn't go max difficulty with all the options (besides harder monsters, you need reduced rewards & monsters that chase you).

Seeing a lot of complaints about DQ7 Reimagined being too easy and that's not been my personal experience at all. With all the difficulty options at their hardest, I feel it's been a good challenge so far. Actually died in a random encounter in the dungeon right before the 4th party member joins.
