It's difficult getting everyone out the house this morning for a litter pick but at least the rain has stopped

I would love to find out how to pray with one of these.

Tomorrow, on Transfiguration Sunday, I'm leading the service and being given feedback for my final assessment. Currently I'm finding it hard to plan prayers for the world because mostly I want to kick things and scream at the state it is in.

Vaccinating your children is woke, caring about climate change is woke, gender equality is woke, being against racism & homophobia is woke, higher education is woke, the Sermon on the Mount is woke. So now they can be ignored & large parts of the centre have been persuaded of this by the far right.

It's fascinating, and disturbing, the way the word woke has been manipulated & redefined by the likes of Farage & Musk in such an effective way. They have successfully aligned it with extreme liberal ideologies so that everything else it previously included can now be ignored and dismissed too. 1/2

I kept saying I'd love a day or two where none of my family has to do anything or go anywhere. Oops.

As the church, we need to be like Maroon Budde, prophetic voices speaking truth to power; not seduced by power and wealth, exchanging our birthright for a mess of potage.

Realised hubby and I have been together 19 years. We must have been so young. Have finally sat down with a marmalade gin liqueur but as we're now old, need to go to bed with chamomile tea and a book soon!

Imagine watching that sermon and thinking it was "nasty." We elected a man who thinks mercy has no place in a house of worship. God help us.

The days I work from home are massively more productive and avoid a stressful commute and improve my work+life balance and time with my children. I wouldn't give up the interaction and benefits of being in the office most days, but these comments are short-sighted and ignorant.
