I have three pairs of Bibi's compression gloves and several pairs of their cute compression thigh highs, too.

It's good not only supporting a Black disabled-owned business, but the value is incredible compared to mass produced versions of these items available at large retailers!

The majority of people on the right I know and what I see from right wingers online is they have a politics as sports worldview. ๐Ÿ‘‡ They think bringing up Bill Clinton in regards to the Epstein Files is a gotcha. However, I don't know a single Democrat who defends him.

A poster on a wall among bookshelves. It's in glorious color with pink peonies along the bottom. The text reads 'Unattended children will be given an enthusiastic explanation of intersectional feminism.'

My daughter is on a junket to New York with her online peeps. She sent me this poster from the Ripped Bodice:

This is an age where you start to think, "I'm too old to get started on X. I'll be 37 (or whatever) by the time I'm finished!"

Most of the fear attached to that is the being 37 part. But you'll be 37 eventually anyway. So jump past that and decide what kind of 37-year-old you want to be.

On every interactive internet-connected device around the world, a question came up in the user's preferred language:

"Do you agree or disagree with the proposition that it is morally wrong to claim you can own the body of another sentient being?"

I'm really curious to see the result of that poll.

Get enough exercise, brush and floss, eat your vegetables, and wear sunblock.

Seriously, it will make such a huge difference to your quality of life when you are fifty or sixty, you have no idea.

You can't raid and arrest everyone in an entire apartment building, or even legitimately get a warrant to do that, any more than you could for a whole neighborhood. That would be a general warrant. This is the most specific core the-British-did-it-to-us thing the Fourth Amendment is written to ban.

This comment nails it. Frankly itโ€™s none of anyoneโ€™s business who else is in a public lavatory, even if they consider someone is in the โ€œwrongโ€ one. If youโ€™re upset by the mere presence of somebody else for reasons of your own beliefs, thatโ€™s your problem.

a democratically elected congresswoman is being denied her seat because the speaker simply does not want to seat her and leadership is as unconcerned about this as they seem to be about everything else

U.S. Pulls Plug on Haitiโ€™s Last Big Industry The end of a trade initiative imperils embattled clothing exporters that employ thousands who make garments for Hanes, Calvin Klein and Gap.

For nearly two decades, the U.S. provided a lifeline to Haiti: duty-free textile imports that drew American apparel manufacturers and created tens of thousands of jobs in the Western Hemisphereโ€™s poorest country. As of Wednesday, that lifeline is no more. www.wsj.com/world/americ...

2 years ago I worked on a project to restore a 1920s WHS railway station bookstall. It was in pieces & in a bad state. A colleague & I found old photos of it in the WHS archive at @themerl.bsky.social which helped the restoration work. Look at it now๐Ÿ‘‡ Full story www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2025...

Hundreds plunge in Chicago River for first official swim in nearly 100 years Group participates in previously unthinkable mile-long swim after US made key progress to clean polluted rivers

Some 300 swimmers looped through downtown Chicago in the first official river swim since 1927, a milestone made possible by decades of cleanup, starting with the creation of the Environmental Protection Agency and Clean Water Act in the 1970s. buff.ly/QiC1WZD

I am quick at playing board games;
I have nine skills;
I forget runes slowly;
the book is a preoccupation with me and also craftsmanship.
I am able to glide on skis;
I shoot and I row so that it makes a difference;
I am able to understand both:
harp-playing and poems.

Weirdly enough I was telling my first-years about "warrior ethos" last week.

Here's the skill set of a Top Viking, as set out by a dude who'd have gone through anyone using the phrase "warrior ethos" like a well-aimed axe.

Some true things (a non-exhaustive list):
--Kindness is never a mistake.
--Libraries are wonderful.
--You should drink more water than you are.
--If you're grouchy, eat something.
--No one is perfect. Pedestals are not safe for anyone.
--Love is the answer to a lot of questions.
--You are valuable.

People of Illinois, we need your help.

Get your cell phones out โ€“ record what you see. Put it on social media. Peacefully ask for badge numbers and identification. Speak up for your neighbors.

We need to let the world know this is happening โ€“ and that we wonโ€™t stand for it.

This Day in Labor History: September 30, 1919. A shootout occurred between armed guards protecting a union meeting of sharecroppers in Elaine, Arkansas and whites seeking to intimidate them. The next day, the governor ordered the military to massacre the workers!!! This is the Elaine Massacre!

I can't get over how the right-wing doesn't understand modern militaries, with the majority serving non-combat roles. You think the best IT security & logistics personnel spends two hours in the gym every day to look like the cast of 300? They're at furry conventions and model train shows.

Black people actually did call all of this, so did Indigenous people. White people just thought we were exaggerating because you were fine with the violence toward communities that you thought wouldn't include you. But the thru line from eugenics, bleach, and Ivermectin to here was incredibly clear
