Pretty sure the researchers talking about this survey live in a basement on their campus.

There is a super interesting opportunity though my grad school for both mentoring and training in public scholarship.

Saw someone upbraiding someone else for having a hobby while the world is on fire, and, my friends:

1. The world is ever on fire, this is today's conflagration;

2. If you don't find time for rest and joy the fire will consume you;

3. Don't let people shame you for being an entire human.

Could be. Could also be arthritis. Or crepitus. Or normal. Mine is due to the rotator cuff repair I had in May for one, and crepitus/arthritis in the other.

Sometimes people need permission to do things, even if whatever is able to be done is implicitly allowed. And I'm sorry I can't have some of your cake from Iowa.

Educational Psychologist Toward Equity in Educational Psychology: Including Students with Disabilities in Research and Theory. Volume 60, Issue 3 of Educational Psychologist

It's here! The newest issue of @edpsychjournal.bsky.social asks: why aren't you including students with disabilities in your research?

Then, an amazing group of scholars demonstrate how and why they DO. I want to highlight a few aspects of the special issue in particular:

I really like this study of the reasons college students move from one STEM major to another, particularly its focus on both the attractive aspects of the new major AND their disenchantments with their old major. Both parts are important. #PsychSciSky #AcademicSky #EduSky

I used MQP in my dissertation. For a class I took (20 years ago), we used his Utilization-Focused Evaluation text (5th ed here: us.sagepub.com/en-us/nam/ut...), and I still refer to that today. I also have Denzin & Lincoln's qual handbook on my shelf (us.sagepub.com/en-us/nam/th...)

Pro tip, folks: if you make a figure for a publication, don’t just hand the copyright over to the publisher. Post it on OSF first and then give yourself permission to use it in the first publication and then all future publications. That way, no permissions issues.

Also, the notion of not just knowing this already, but getting to the knowing part FAR before my colleagues, and then having to reign in my face so it doesn't register the (real or imagined) annoyance I have that they haven't gotten it yet.

Good News: We just passed the β€œTaylor Swift” bill, creating civil penalties to people/entities that create bots to purchase event tickets on the internet. Good win for event venues and consumers!

An excellent question. No clue. I didn't get an offer there. I also didn't want to work there, either, after the broader interview experience.
