Ok, so the Argerich / Barenboim is a fantastic live performance to be sure.
Is it my new favorite record? No.
Does it improve on some of the piece's sleepier moments? No.
But does it (for SOME reason) really capture and accentuate the piece's more frenetic and chaotic qualities? Yes, absolutely!

Got introduced to the 2-pno version in a Strav. seminar (maybe it was the Naxos recording we studied?).

This $1b number needs a fact check. If you add up the Feeding our Future numbers and other scandals, it is a significant number. But I am not sure how it totals over $1b. The NYT also threw out this number and now it's being repeated, usually with no mention of ring leader Aimee Bock.
