This year instead of people simply keeping their porch lights off, I saw multiple homes went out of their way to put up CAUTION KEEP OUT tape, on their porch, completely blocking access to their front door. Damn, they really don’t want anyone knocking and they won’t put out candy. Daaaamn.

I remember when that stuff first started coming out with abled people convinced that was the way and then later teaching it in schools and “correcting” me. Meanwhile it intuitively felt off/wrong/weird/for show. Took time before I ever saw other disabled people saying the same.

My unemployment appeals that should’ve happened in JANUARY for unemployment starting October 2024 has finally been rescheduled to Oct 2025. Because I needed disability accommodations for the meeting. It’s expensive to be disabled. I’m still not convinced they have the correct accommodations set up.

I re/watched all the Final Destination movies & the most unbelievable-to-me part of all the movies is how hard they all try to stay alive. Sounds exhausting, no thanks. I’ll just continue on in life & wait for my freak accident.

I haven’t a clue if my apartment complex will have any kids attempting to trick or treat but I’ve got the candy ready to go. A variety as well as full sized options. Either kids will be happy or my coworkers will be.

Ohh, that reminds me: The parents who raised the oldest children aren’t the same parents raising the younger ones. The more kids they had, they had different rules enforced. So having one sibling vs multiple is also a different experience for bonding or how fights happen and get resolved. Chaos!

For my experience: Siblings are like adopted cats. You’ve all got different personalities and somehow without your input you all ended up living in the same house. 😆

Got them synced up, turned off/on, paused, FF. Now what’s probably a coincidence the captions are synced up. Didnt know this awards show included all aspects of production thought it was only for the actors. Also for animation, costumes, etc. pretty cool.

The captions are wildly off timing from the actual talking. Captions are too quick. The sound isn’t on but Conan enunciates so well it’s glaringly obvious his mouth doesn’t match the captions. Not sure how long I can tolerate this. Did they use AI instead of captioners?

I can watch the Oscar’s now. I’ll fast forward to just the parts where Conan is talking. I do not know what that will look like in reducing the time of 3 hours.

Hulu tells me live option is unavailable when I’ve tried. Alternative is free trial to YouTube tv but feels too late now.

I was going to watch an awards show for first time because Conan O’Brien is hosting but turns out my Hulu needs a live tv subscription.
Relying on the internet for clips of the best parts instead.

Update: nah, ignoring them helped get to the worst timeline.

Update that everyone is painfully aware of but for future purposes: They ended up firing new federal employees anyway. 🙃
