It’s such an interesting study on how easily the mind is tricked. When we first meet Doc in 1985, Lloyd’s age makeup means we just accept him as old. But then of course they go back in time and he gets to wear his real face, but we all still remember him as old.

Idk if this is an unpopular opinion, but I think if you get a gift you hate on #ao3 you should have the good grace to reject it, so at least the author knows you saw it and didn’t want it. Don’t leave an author who maybe put a lot of time and love into something to just wonder forever.
