Yep, that's why I liked the patchwork suits. These are people barely scraping by, just trying to survive and hopefully one day strike it rich. But in the meantime, they have to put their survival suits together from whatever pieces they can forage. And possibly kill for.

I absolutely adore that movie and have since I was a kid. I think I watch it at least once a year. I acknowledge every terrible thing about that wonderful movie.

Amazing movie. I don't think it's controversial or anything. It's just that no one saw it. I have friends who are super sci-fi nerds who never heard of it, despite PEDRO PASCAL starring in it.

Worth it just for the patchwork astronaut costumes. Apparently cosplayers made them and the sets.

It's an incoherent mess, but it's a beautiful and engaging incoherent mess. I love it.

The problem with John Carter, aside from terrible marketing, is that people have spent the last century ripping off Burroughs, so if you weren't aware of what the movie's origins were, you would think that it was one big ripoff.
