To paraphrase Mamdani 'wr need to stop voting for the lesser evil and start seeking a greater good'. If the best you've got to support Carney is that he is better than PP you are supporting the lesser evil.
And hanging around with Maxwell and Andrew isn't a good look either.
Why do so many @mark-carney.bsky.social supporters quote @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social when Mamdani stands for supporting workers over billionaires?
Carney like Cuomo stands with the rich against the poor and thus one would think he was more their speed
No longer should we think about our political process as settling for the lesser of two evils. We can demand a greater good. - Zohran Mamdani in groovy font

In #Canada both #Federal and #Provincial governments have the ability to build the infrastructure and services people need, it's called investing in your own people.
#neoliberalism dictates that they give our money to private interests instead and find excuses for why life doesn't get better.
Austerity and attacks on collective bargaining! Man this conservative government is something.
05.11.2025 23:26 β π 10 π 7 π¬ 0 π 1The NDP choosing a progressive leader, with actual progressive policies, is the only way to avoid this future.
3/3
3rd - The societal disaster from Carney's cuts will hit and Liberal support will eveaporate
4th - Ford will campaign on a 'Stop Carney' platform and will become PM
5th - Ford will devastate Canada

Here are my political predictions for the next few years in Canada:
1st - Enough CPC MP's are going to defect to the Liberals to ensure the budget passes
2nd - PP will resign after the leadership review in January and will be replaced as CPC by Doug Ford

Both corporate CEO's and politicians are masters of saying what people want to hear and then doing the opposite at the first opportunity.
His budget is 100% a trickle-down budget.
When I was a child I would try and use the excuse "but everybody else is doing it" and she would always respond "and if everybody else jumped off a bridge, would you?"
Now #Canada is abandoning #climatechange for #oil and #gas and literally using the justification "but everybody else is doing it"
Zohran did the exact same thing Obama did in 2008; he offered people hope for a better future and a viable plan for changes that would be directly beneficial to them (no trickle down tricks required)
05.11.2025 05:09 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Yes - socialism agendas work because striving for equality is something most humans actually prefer. Give the billionaires a trophy for winning capitalism then tax them out of existence. Capitalism works best when there is a government that enacts rules, oversight and watchdogs.
05.11.2025 03:03 β π 8 π 4 π¬ 0 π 0Increased militarism?
Abandonment of addressing climate change?
Slashing of public services?
Billions in handouts to corporations?
Those are acceptable to you, but criticizing tax breaks on yachts is your deal breaker? I have no problem with your choice of an insect based diet, it's a free country
Instead of investing in frontline services and the workers who keep Canada running, the government is doubling down on job cuts and AI chatbots that will weaken Canadaβs social safety net.

Appreciate the high speed rail β but what about the rest for working-class Canadians? Cutting taxes on private jets for the 0.01% may help corporations, but wonβt help those who will lose their jobs because of AI and austerity.
Canada Strong must mean *all* Canadians, not just a minority thereof!
Write the @ndp.ca folks! Make sure their MPs know how Canadians feel!
04.11.2025 22:47 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0No we can't do it alone BUT we could have held the line on what we were doing (which was already inadequate) instead of moving in the opposite direction of actively encouraging emissions.
Long term this is going to leave Canada wildly out of position when the pendulum swings.
And of course tax breaks for buying private jets and yachts... cause that's what Canadians need!
04.11.2025 22:17 β π 9 π 1 π¬ 2 π 0What do you like about it?
Massive military spending?
Abandonment of climate change?
Massive cuts to the programs Canadians use in the daily lives?
Billions for corporations?
It's the Canadian version of North Korea's Songun, aka the Military-First, policy... we are truly fucked

- Eliminating carbon cap (because more emissions somehow help fight climate change)
- 'Investing' in Carbon Capture (technology that doesn't work but will but billions into O&G shareholders pockets)

If #Canada wants to keep it's #sovereignty we need to take control of our #media
1) Ban foreign ownership of all #Canadian media (including non-voting shares)
2) Ban any individual from having a controlling interest in multiple media outlets

"The risk to our country is not that Canadians will be too cautious in embracing AI, but that our government will act too rashly, tying our democracy, prosperity, security, sovereignty and collective well-being to a questionable product and its reckless promoters."

I'm 100% certain that when a recall petition gains enough signatures the Smith regime will pass legislation abolishing recalls (using the NWC if necessary)
