#O&G devotees think we can increase exports to Europe, China, and India if only we build a few more pipelines... In reality all 3 of those markets are rapidly electrifying and will begin reducing their consumption in the near future. Then those pipelines will become expensive public liabilities.

The best way to protect children online is education and being able to have open, honest conversations with adults they trust.

Pushing kids into the shadows (which is what these 'protection acts' ultimately always do) makes them vulnerable.

There's a strategy for moving the Overton window wherein you say extreme stuff so even if you don't persuade centrists you recalibrate their sense of where the reasonable compromises lie and thus get things a bit closer to your preferred point of view. My sense is the Right can do this and we can't.

This is the perfect example of a scam ad... People click on them without thinking

And then the 'Center' moves right chasing their voters, and the 'Left' moves right chasing the 'Centers' voters.... Thus the Overton window shifts

The US Democratic Party is very similar ideologically to the UCP or Federal Cons here in Canada

In 2008 Obama ran on a platform of healthcare reform, he offered people something that would improve their lives and won

In 2016, 2020, and 2024 Clinton, Biden, and Harris all ran on platforms of "I'm not Donald Trump" and they lost 2/3. You can't win if you have nothing substantial to offer voters
