Huh, I hadn't considered that, re: tea/coffee stains. Aside from that I haven't had any issues with gel detergent and just assumed it was something a dishwasher couldn't deal with.

Everyone in favor of permanent DST seems to forget that it was tried in the 70s and hated so much that it only lasted one year. Prior to WWI there only was Standard Time, and there wasn't even nationwide uniform DST until WWII. We seemed to do just fine without it prior to then.

Time zone placement is just as arbitrary as what time it is (DST or ST).

We have just over two weeks to pass Prop 50. And when we do, it will send a message of hope across the country, that change is possible if we do the work.

I mean, "America First" never actually meant "America First" to begin with, so it's not at all surprising. They're at the point where they're *happy* to openly show their hypocrisy.

Our democracy is not self-executing. It depends on us all as citizens, regardless of our political affiliations, to stand up and fight for the core values that have made this country the envy of the world.

The sad thing is, many people actually *believe* their blatant double-standards.

And I hope they continue to rebuffed these demands. This administration doesn't give in to legal demands, so why should these states give in to illegal demands.

Maybe, I dunno, stop literally calling anyone who doesn't agree with them "the enemy" or calling some races "animals"? Their carefully chosen words are the very words they claim need to be toned down. 🪞

Maybe the fact that there is a whole *industry* to deal with school shootings means we're solving for the wrong problem. It feels like putting up bumper barriers around roads for drivers that can't stay on the road instead of enforcing better driver training.

Latent heat is "energy released or absorbed ... during a ... phase transition". The US is most definitely in a (political) "phase transition". So from that perspective, we are talking about latent heat. 🤔
