Læs vores dystopi i dagens @information.dk www.information.dk/debat/2025/0...

Here you have it, the five-year running mean for global sea surface temperatures, showing the impact of 5+ billion Hiroshima bombs worth of heating, and the massive rise in ocean heat content.

The five-year running mean dampens most of the impacts from ENSO and other short-term cycles.

Climate Models Can’t Explain What’s Happening to Earth Global warming is moving faster than the best models can keep a handle on.

Hi pals. Today I wrote about the unsettling mismatches between what climate models say should be happening and what is actually happening. We're pushing the Earth past the limits of our physical understanding. This is a gift link: www.theatlantic.com/science/arch...

Here is the 36-month running mean for CO2 growth.

1) Compute the running mean level of atmospheric CO2 over 36-months.

2) For any given date's 36-month running mean of CO2, subtract the running mean from 36 months earlier and plot that point.

3) Freak out that CO2 growth is increasing again!

Line graph time series of 2025's daily Arctic sea ice extent compared to decadal averages from the 1980s to the 2010s. The decadal averages are shown with different colored lines with purple for the 1980s, blue for the 1990s, green for the 2000s, and white for the 2010s. Thin white lines are also shown for each year from 2000 to 2024. 2025 is shown with a thick gold line. There is a long-term decreasing trend in ice extent for every day of the year shown on this graph between January and April by looking at the decadal average line positions.

Sorry - a not so very good Sunday ice update. #Arctic sea ice extent is easily the *lowest* on record to kick off a new year (JAXA data)... 🌊

• about 610,000 km² below the 2010s mean
• about 2,160,000 km² below the 1980s mean

Did you know that 2/3 of all energy we use ends up as waste heat because of how inefficient our energy system is?

Yet we pay for 100% of the energy inputs.

Here’s the US as an example.

Hej Erik,
Tak for svar. Jeg anvendte to oversigter.
