Labour wants to beat Reform?
Restore winter fuel, not blame migrants.

Out and about in Stamford Brook today!
Great to speak with residents about what matters most β from community safety and fibre broadband to the long-overdue potholes repaired on the Bridge near Waitrose.
Ending the winter fuel allowance for most pensioners, cutting benefits for the disabled, refusing to end the two-child benefit cap, and drastically cutting financial support for adopted children⦠was perhaps not a good idea.
People voted for Labour expecting change β not more of the same.

07.04.2025 16:11 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0US Senator Mark Kelly, a former combat pilot with 39 missions over Iraq and a four-time Space Shuttle commander, travelled to Kyiv to advocate for Ukraineβs defence. In response, Elon Musk branded him a "traitor." Iβm honestly speechless.

At tonight's Trafford Council meeting, Trafford Tories and Lib Dems voted against the budgetβwithout proposing any alternative!
Embarrassing.

If we want to avoid war, let's make sure tyrants like Putin or Xi Jinping know we mean business.
16.02.2025 13:43 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It's either we increase defence spending now, build up an army fit for purpose, and work with other European nations to build a new European alliance, or we will all regret it when Russia or China attack us.

02.02.2025 17:50 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I met with residents living near Attenburyβs Lane to talk about the state of the lane. Clearly, the area has been neglected for years!
From blocked gullies to self-seeded trees growing on years of leaves and soil left on the pavement, residents are right to be concerned about the state of this road.
If we want to boost the economy and if economic growth is a priority, then surely investing in our rail network should come first.
02.02.2025 17:39 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0There is no proper economic case for it; that's why it was abandoned by the previous government.
Meanwhile, in the Northwest of England, trains around Manchester and Liverpool are still running on diesel. ..
If you really think that a third runway at Heathrow is what the country needs, think again.
Not only was the evidence for expanding the terminal to boost the UKβs economic growth commissioned by Heathrow itself, but the environmental damage it would cause is simply unacceptable.
Kim Jong-un has deployed a "zombie" army to the battlefield in Ukraine as North Korean soldiers reportedly hurl themselves into Ukrainian defences in "futile" waves.
02.02.2025 10:31 β π 14 π 9 π¬ 6 π 2But we should not ignore concerns about immigration either. Using hotels to house asylum seekers isn't a long-term solution.
The UK government must stop the boats crossing the English Channel, dismantle the gangs profiting from migrants, and guarantee safe routes for asylum seekers.
Streeting is right. The best way to defeat the populist right and Reform UK is by addressing bread-and-butter issues: the NHS, the cost-of-living crisis, and ensuring we support the economy. We need a positive vision for the country.
