This is the biggest oil pastel painting I've finished so far, at 22" tall. It is a study from my own photograph, and there is a large watercolour underpainting propping up the oil pastels, which really helped give me some incredible colour vibration that, sadly, the camera really can't capture.

I took the wing Chun at Raw Taiko. Very accessible and friendly.

Why the couch? Idk. If I do more of this I’ll probably try to find a way to connect it conceptually to the animal portrait. This rabbit lives near me but has never been on the couch. I drew a dragon! whenever I see it, it reminds me to relax my shoulders and unclench my jaw.

Wow the fixative really changes it. But damn your skill has grown so much! Amazing colours and depth.
