It is insane that it took more than 200 journalists to be slaughtered and almost two years of Israel deliberately targeting them, for the CAJ to finally make a statement that prétends they've been opposed all along.

CAJ expressed “concerns” in November 2023 about the safety of journalists in Gaza. This statement is the first of its kind in almost two years, especially when it is now politically safe in Canada to come out against Israel’s crimes against humanity.

I will not be renewing my @cajournalists.bsky.social membership after this. CAJ’s failure to effectively speak out against Israel’s targeted killings of over 190 journalists since October 2023 should cast serious doubt on their ability to advocate for press freedom abroad.
