I'd also like to add that most 4-year state universities were tuition-free until the Republican Governor of California, Ronald Reagan, led the charge to end tuition-free college in 1960. Brown vs the Board of Education was passed in 1952. They made college unaffordable to keep black people out.

We now live in a country where the President can personally threaten a 16-year-old girl in the morning and by the afternoon a Democratic state will agree to target and segregate her from her peers for the crime of being transgender.
