even funnier is I have thrown out peanuts for them before, tho not with any regularity. crackpot theory: they remembered "hey this person threw out peanuts for us that one time. let's be really loud and see if we can make that happen again!" and their idea worked and now I might have obligations lol

lots and lots of crows cawing outside. like REALLY making a racket. I go out to see what the deal is, and it's just a group of crows waddling around looking for food, cawing. I throw out some peanuts. they happily hop toward them and gobble them up... and they stop cawing.

Lass caught a little bark louse or something, lad caught a midge. I don't have many pictures of ant mimic salticids with prey so seeing this pair the same day was a treat ❤️

Last night a waiter asked if our table had any food restrictions or preferences. I shrugged and said I’m pescatarian. He got excited and went through the menu pointing out vegetarian items that they could add shrimp or fish to, as if I’m actually an obligate pescivore. Loved it. 30% tip.
