They are- and for a number of groups that operate outside of and to the left of the party- particularly prison reform. My greater point is agreeing with Courtney- we need to work with everyone and stop focusing on labels and pointing fingers. Do the work to change the systems and stop the rot.

Gun violence, humanitarian and sensible migration policies, a complete rethinking of our “justice system”, an education system that values children and educators, healthcare systems that prioritize people, true safety for seniors and disabled folks, the environment- all of these things are a crises.

The rot is so terribly deep in this country and goes so far beyond the 2024 election it’s mind blowing. Trump is a symptom, not the illness. Until we acknowledge the greater problem and that it will take many minds, many hands, and many priorities we will always lose.

My sense is that the things the Republican president and his accomplices are doing are about to make a lot more people houseless and hungry. If you can, donate now to your homeless shelter and local food banks. Cash is best. See if you can set up a recurring donation.
