Given that antisemitism obviously exists and there are people who want Israel destroyed on that basis alone, it seems strange that the Israeli government sees no problem with also creating totally secular and reasonable reasons to hate Israel on a daily basis.

What a surprise. Who would have thought that he’s dealing with forces that can’t be swayed by nothing more than a few words and his own ego.

I can’t believe after a decade in politics that anyone could possibly take anything he says in face value. It’s truly a marvel of human psychology.

It’s important to say clearly that his criminal case and stuff like this happens *because* he’s a cop. His years in the NYPD taught him that he can get away with a certain baseline level of constant corruption and no one will do anything about it.

This would be a powerful and compelling message if delivered by a person who wasn’t 80 thousand years old.

A few decades from now, these men are going to be lying to their grandchildren about what they were doing during this administration.

I genuinely question why someone wouldn’t be legally allowed to defend themselves with deadly force if men like this are trying to abduct them.

It was always utterly bizarre. The anti-immigrant rural communities who voted for Trump because of his position on immigration get to keep all their immigrant workers, but the big cities who actually wanted the immigrants get the mass deportation. Insane.

I wonder if it’s an “official” reversal to avoid any political and legal problems, but still the de facto order is to target big cities and their economies.

Face covering, no uniform, no badge, no warrant, no other proof they are legitimate law enforcement. Yet accosting someone and forcing them into unmarked vehicles. Eventually there is going to be a court case deciding whether a citizen has the right to “stand their ground” in this situation.

If the admin knew about and supported this before the fact and didn’t notify congress, then they should be dragged before congress immediately. If Israel did this without notifying and getting the OK from the admin, congress should forbid any further aid of any kind immediately.

This is basically de facto true already. Took a bus through central Bronx recently. Bus was packed and maybe 10% of people paid. Driver did nothing.
