So I can't confirm or deny that Saxony is less effortlessly anglophone than the rest of Germany. Their German is certainly very good.

It seems to me that like the English, Danes immediately throw out English at everyone at their travels without attempting to revive their rusty school French, German or Spanish. Decided to stick with German on the holiday and it was just fine; English may have done just as well.
