Yeah idk about this. Seattle in 2010 was pretty nice. More affordable, cleaner, less aggressive drivers. I would trade everything except light rail to go back.

Oh and it costs me $6 each way with ORCA Lift. The express bus is free and only makes two stops between Kingston and Port Townsend. Highly, highly recommend esp. if you can bring a bike.

For a brief and very early window, the 60 mile journey is comparable to driving and likely faster with a bike. I can shave off ~20 minutes by biking to the ferry terminal.

One of the least usable sidewalks I’ve seen in Seattle, right next to the I-90 exit and a stones throw from the yet-to-be-opened Judkins Park Station.

Kinda weird that bus fares are kinda a tax on big businesses that subsidize passes but removing fares would be a meaningful reduction in revenue and most of that savings would go to employers, not riders

Like last time I was in Vancouver buses were running every 20 minutes at 4am.

In seriousness I’m pretty sure our most frequent routes top out at every six minutes, maybe. Regardless, buses every 30 minutes in the city center are unacceptable and rage-inducing tbh.

King County Metro Route 4 schedule with buses in 26, 55, and 85 minutes.

Ugh there are so many neighborhoods I wish we could copy/paste onto Seattle. My life feels like it’s on pause between trips to NYC. Need to get back there soon!
