I've been getting a bunch of new followers today. I suspect this must be why! Thanks for starting this!

Barad's book has a special place in my heart. It was recommended to me by my Anthropology of Sci. and Tech. prof my second year of undergrad. I was an STS major at the time with interests in phil sci and foundations of physics. Every page felt like a revelation. It might be time for a second read!

I think William Wimsatt's "Re-engineering Philosophy for Limited Beings" might be just the thing you'd dig - esp. if you take "putting biology into philosophy" as acknowledging just how messy the world really is and how messy we are as knowers of it

Would it be crazy of me to think that we can give a syntactic account of the structure of scientific theories based on intuitionistic FOL rather than classical FOL?
It seems plausible to me since we can "embed" classical FOL in intuitionistic FOL via Godel-Gentzen double negation

I like the idea of putting it all in appendices. This way the math doesn't crowd the main body while readers who are curious or need to get acquainted with it have the chance to.
19.10.2023 14:13 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Does anyone have advice for writing a philosophy (of science) paper that uses some mathematical tools as part of its argument? I'm having trouble being concise while explaining enough for the argument to be clear to someone unfamiliar with the math.

Been lurking for a while -- I figure I should do something of an introduction.
Currently an MA Philosophy student writing a thesis in which I compare a couple of accounts of scientific theories.
Still learning the ropes around here, but like what I've seen so far.
