Lorks! I'm sure you'll end up with something really interesting, though not sure that is the best way too mimic wood engraving!
Look up Ben Goodman, he has some wood engraving classes up coming in your neck of the woods (I think).

My latest engraving (now entitled 'neath a fading sky' - courtesy of Walter de la Mare's 'A Summers Evening', is forging ahead nicely.

My next wood engraving takes a step closer this afternoon. Finished the last prepedary sketch an ink and conti crayon drawing, I shall now start to draw up the wood block, ready to engrave.
I've not got a title for it yet - any suggestions?

Letter cutting has taken centre stage this week - lettering this nice piece of Portland stone.

Progress, from the original pencil sketch, through the pen and ink drawing to the engraving into the boxwood block 'Under Shopham Bridge' is (nearly)ready for a proof. It will be exclusively released at 'Risilient River' exhibition, curated by the wonderful Kevis House Gallery (Petworth) in July.
