Our first all age gathering at Hoddesdon #Quakers was great! Music, food, ministry and community 💚 so glad we are bringing this meeting back to life nearly 15 years after it was laid down, and building a new worshipping community in #Hoddesdon.

I’m completely with you, I find meetings for worship hard and have felt ‘spiritually dry’ for most of the past 5 years. I think spending time with your fellow worshippers outside of meeting is helpful. And reading in meeting can help give you ideas to latch onto. Thanks for sharing!

A Friend and I are restarting my local #Quaker meeting in #Hoddesdon which closed 14 yrs ago.
We’re trying things a little differently… readings, sensory materials, meditative activities, music! And of course some silent worship.
Aimed especially at newcomers and young people. All welcome 💚

You don’t need a perfect project.
You just need a spark of purpose, a willingness to try something new, and the courage to take the first step.
The Innovation Fund exists to help you get that idea off the ground. So if something’s brewing—get in touch.
☎️ 5. Join a Workshop or Book a Call
I’ll be running:
👨🏼🏫 Open online workshops and bespoke sessions for congregations, districts, or networks
👥 One-to-one support at any stage of the process
We’ll also publish detailed guidance in May, so there’s time to prepare well.
4. Ask “What Would Make This Possible?”

Which is completely valid and I’m happy to help! Whatever challenge you’re facing, let’s talk early.
💭 3. Think Small First
Big change often starts small.
You don’t need a 50-page business plan. Just a sense of what you want to try, who it’s for, and what difference it might make.
You can apply for a small grant to test something out, or get help developing a larger idea.
🗣️ 2. Talk It Out
You don’t have to do this alone.
Talk to others in your congregation or community (or me!). Sometimes just saying it out loud helps shape the idea.
You might find people who share your energy—or who challenge you to think differently. Both are helpful.

What change do you want to see?
Maybe your congregation wants to connect with younger people or a group in your community that’s been overlooked. Maybe it’s time to reimagine how you worship or serve.
Ground your idea in a clear purpose and meaningful change.
